Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on home lending litigation matters, including mortgage disputes, foreclosure proceedings, and consumer claims
  • Manage and oversee litigation cases from inception through resolution, coordinating with external counsel and internal stakeholders
  • Draft and review legal pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements specific to financial services litigation
  • Conduct legal research on Argentine and international banking laws, regulatory compliance, and case precedents
  • Collaborate with JP Morgan Chase's Home Lending business teams to mitigate litigation risks and ensure adherence to legal standards
  • Represent the firm in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations related to lending disputes
  • Monitor regulatory developments in the financial services industry and advise on potential impacts to home lending operations
  • Develop strategies for litigation defense and contribute to policy updates to prevent future legal exposures
  • Prepare reports and updates on litigation status for senior management and compliance committees
  • Assist in training junior legal staff on best practices in financial litigation handling

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Argentina or a relevant jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in litigation, with a focus on financial services or consumer lending disputes
  • Proven track record in managing complex litigation cases involving home lending, mortgages, or regulatory compliance
  • Strong understanding of Argentine financial regulations, including those related to consumer protection and banking laws
  • Experience in drafting legal documents, pleadings, and responses in litigation proceedings
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a global financial institution
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
