Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage a portfolio of home lending assets, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and performance targets
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and stress testing to identify potential delinquencies or defaults
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to approve or adjust loan terms based on portfolio health
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize portfolio yield while minimizing credit losses
  • Analyze market trends and economic indicators to forecast portfolio performance and recommend adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including fair lending practices and anti-money laundering protocols
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on portfolio metrics and risks
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and compliance, to support overall lending objectives
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio diversification and growth in the home lending sector
  • Mentor junior portfolio managers and contribute to team training on best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in portfolio management, credit risk analysis, or lending operations within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of home lending products, including mortgages, home equity loans, and refinancing options
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance standards such as Dodd-Frank and Basel III
  • Experience with portfolio monitoring tools and data analytics software
  • Ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends and mitigate risks in loan portfolios
  • CFA, FRM, or similar professional certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance)
