We are seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer for IBMi Operations in our Buenos Aires office to spearhead SRE solutions for our IBMi platform, a cornerstone of our legacy systems supporting critical financial applications. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the support and development of SRE solutions for the IBMi platform, ensuring high availability and performance for critical financial systems
• Monitor and optimize IBMi infrastructure to support JP Morgan Chase's global trading and banking operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation and reliability engineering practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in IBMi environments, minimizing downtime in 24/7 financial services operations
• Develop and maintain documentation for IBMi operations, including disaster recovery procedures
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as capacity planning and performance tuning for IBMi systems
• Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations and internal security standards
• Mentor junior engineers on SRE best practices and IBMi technologies
• Integrate IBMi with modern DevOps pipelines to enhance deployment efficiency
• Participate in on-call rotations to support mission-critical applications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IBMi operations and infrastructure support
• Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and tools
• Strong knowledge of IBMi platform, including AS/400 systems and RPG programming
• Experience in financial services or high-availability environments
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as CL, Python, or Bash for automation
• Ability to work in a global team environment with flexible hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications in IBMi or SRE methodologies (e.g., Google SRE certification)
• Experience with cloud integration for IBMi platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure)
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in financial services (e.g., SOX, GDPR)
• Prior leadership experience in infrastructure teams
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, and monitoring solutions (e.g., Splunk)

Required Skills

• Expertise in IBMi OS administration and configuration
• Proficiency in RPG, COBOL, and CL programming for IBMi
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, including error budgets and SLIs/SLOs
• Experience with monitoring tools like IBM Monitoring or Prometheus
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and backup solutions for IBMi
• Automation scripting in Python, Perl, or similar languages
• Problem-solving and analytical skills in high-pressure environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Familiarity with financial systems and data security protocols
• Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipeline integration
• Risk management and compliance awareness in banking
