Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network load balancing solutions to ensure high availability and performance of JP Morgan Chase's critical financial applications
• Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations for new load balancing technologies, assessing their impact on infrastructure and application scalability
• Automate load balancing configurations using scripting languages like Python, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline deployments and reduce manual errors
• Collaborate with application development teams to optimize traffic routing and failover mechanisms for trading platforms and customer-facing services
• Monitor and troubleshoot load balancer performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing resolutions to minimize downtime in 24/7 financial operations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by integrating security features like SSL offloading and WAF into load balancing architectures
• Perform capacity planning and scaling exercises for load balancers supporting high-volume transaction processing in the financial sector
• Document configurations, processes, and best practices to support knowledge sharing across JP Morgan Chase's global infrastructure teams
• Participate in on-call rotations to handle production incidents related to network infrastructure and load balancing
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend innovations to enhance the resilience of JP Morgan Chase's infrastructure ecosystem

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on networking and load balancing technologies
• Proven experience with load balancers such as F5 BIG-IP, HAProxy, or AWS Elastic Load Balancing in enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and network security principles
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries, with knowledge of compliance standards like PCI-DSS and SOX
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances for handling sensitive financial data
• Demonstrated experience in scripting and automation for infrastructure tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator or Cisco CCNP
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP for load balancing in hybrid environments
• Prior work in agile methodologies and DevOps practices within financial institutions
• Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes for load balancing microservices
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk or ELK Stack for performance optimization
