Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain VMware ESXi-based virtual infrastructure to support JP Morgan Chase's global financial applications
• Monitor and optimize virtual machine performance, ensuring high availability and scalability for trading platforms and data analytics
• Troubleshoot complex issues in virtualized environments, minimizing downtime in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VMware infrastructure with on-premises and cloud-based financial systems
• Implement security best practices, including patch management and vulnerability assessments for ESXi hosts
• Automate routine tasks and infrastructure provisioning using scripting and orchestration tools
• Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to handle peak loads during market volatility
• Participate in disaster recovery drills and ensure business continuity for critical banking operations
• Document infrastructure configurations and processes to support audit and compliance needs
• Stay updated on VMware advancements and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on virtualization technologies
• Strong expertise in VMware ESXi administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Proven experience managing large-scale virtualized environments in a financial services or high-security setting
• In-depth knowledge of networking, storage, and compute infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications
• Experience with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, SOX, and data security protocols in banking environments
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment with on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware certification such as VCP-DCV or higher
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments integrating VMware with AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or PowerCLI for VMware management
• Prior experience in the financial services industry, particularly with trading or risk management systems
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and high availability solutions using VMware Site Recovery Manager
