Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and modeling for Consumer & Retail clients, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company valuations
  • Support the execution of M&A transactions, capital raises, and strategic advisory mandates in the sector
  • Prepare detailed pitch materials, teasers, and confidential information memorandums (CIMs) for client engagements
  • Perform due diligence on target companies, including market research on consumer trends and retail dynamics
  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop sector-specific insights and recommendations for clients
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and coverage groups, to ensure seamless deal progression
  • Monitor industry developments in retail, consumer products, and related areas to inform client strategies
  • Assist in client meetings, roadshows, and negotiations, providing analytical support as needed
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying potential opportunities in the Consumer & Retail space
  • Ensure all deliverables meet J.P. Morgan's high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, preferably in the Consumer & Retail sector
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and M&A transactions
  • Proven track record of supporting deal execution in a fast-paced banking environment
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial databases
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting with senior bankers and clients
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required in investment banking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a bulge-bracket investment bank or boutique advisory firm focused on Consumer & Retail
  • Knowledge of industry trends in retail, consumer goods, food & beverage, and leisure sectors
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses or equivalent FINRA registrations
  • Prior involvement in live deals within the Consumer & Retail vertical
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint for pitchbook creation and client presentations
