Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and valuation of target companies for M&A transactions
  • Develop detailed financial models, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis
  • Prepare pitch books, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), and presentation materials for clients
  • Perform due diligence on potential acquisitions, including market research and competitive analysis
  • Collaborate with senior bankers to structure deals and negotiate terms with counterparties
  • Support deal execution, including coordination with legal, accounting, and regulatory teams
  • Monitor industry trends and provide insights on M&A opportunities in the West Coast market
  • Assist in client meetings, roadshows, and interactions with C-suite executives
  • Contribute to internal team projects, such as sector-specific research reports

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, or financial advisory services
  • Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or equivalent
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship required
  • Series 79 license or willingness to obtain it promptly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or full-time experience at a bulge-bracket investment bank
  • Advanced degree such as MBA or Master's in Finance
  • Experience in the technology or healthcare sectors, relevant to San Francisco market
  • Fluency in additional languages, particularly Mandarin or Spanish for cross-border deals
  • Participation in case competitions or finance-related extracurriculars
