Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior bankers in executing M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and deal structuring
  • Engage with shareholders and institutional investors to manage activism risks and enhance corporate governance
  • Develop financial models and prepare pitch materials for capital markets offerings such as IPOs, follow-ons, and debt issuances
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to advise clients on optimal transaction timing and strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and product specialists, to ensure seamless deal execution
  • Prepare client presentations, teasers, and confidential information memorandums (CIMs) for M&A and financing deals
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends impacting shareholder engagement and capital markets
  • Assist in business development efforts by identifying potential client opportunities in the M&A space
  • Manage junior analysts and ensure high-quality deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Participate in client meetings and negotiations to represent J.P. Morgan's expertise in investment banking

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, shareholder engagement, or M&A capital markets
  • Strong understanding of mergers and acquisitions processes and capital markets dynamics
  • Proven track record in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and deal execution
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial databases
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses or willingness to obtain them

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a bulge-bracket investment bank or top-tier financial institution
  • Prior involvement in shareholder activism defense or proxy advisory roles
