Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily product control operations for investment portfolios, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation of positions
  • Validate profit and loss (P&L) attributions and perform independent price verification for complex financial instruments
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks in trading activities, implementing controls to prevent errors or losses
  • Collaborate with front office, middle office, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance process efficiency
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, preparing reports for senior management
  • Lead initiatives to automate control processes using technology and data analytics
  • Conduct root cause analysis on control breaches and develop remediation plans
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including financial reporting for investment products
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of control strategies
  • Stay abreast of market developments and evolving regulations impacting investment products

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in product control, operations, or financial risk management within investment banking
  • Strong understanding of investment products including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative investments
  • Proficiency in financial regulations such as MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, and EMIR
  • Experience with reconciliation processes and P&L validation in a trading environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or FRM
