Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple software engineering teams, overseeing day-to-day implementation of Java-based applications on AWS
• Set strategic guidance for team practices, collaboration, and output to ensure alignment with JP Morgan Chase's technology roadmap
• Manage end-to-end project delivery, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and timeline adherence in financial services contexts
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and compliance teams to design secure, scalable solutions for banking platforms
• Drive adoption of best practices in cloud architecture, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines to enhance system reliability and performance
• Conduct code reviews, technical assessments, and performance evaluations to maintain high engineering standards
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements in the financial industry
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, promoting agile methodologies and team development
• Interface with senior leadership to report on project progress, challenges, and opportunities in software engineering
• Oversee integration of AWS services with legacy systems to support JP Morgan's global financial operations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
• Proven expertise in Java development and AWS cloud services, including hands-on experience with scalable financial systems
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and software development lifecycle in a regulated financial environment
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in delivering high-impact projects within banking or financial services
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources for multiple engineering initiatives
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders across technology, risk, and compliance functions

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or MBA with a focus on technology management
• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's internal tools, such as proprietary trading platforms or risk management systems
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional) and Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional)
• Prior leadership in fintech projects involving data security, compliance with regulations like GDPR or SOX
• Background in mentoring engineers and fostering innovation in a large-scale enterprise setting

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java programming, including Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS for cloud-native applications
• Strong knowledge of database management (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling for financial datasets
• Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes for deployment automation
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards in financial services (e.g., PCI-DSS)
