Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Java-based applications to support digital enablement initiatives in Commercial and Investment Banking
• Implement SRE best practices to ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability for mission-critical financial systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions with existing banking platforms and APIs
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and maintain high standards of code quality and security
• Monitor application performance using tools like Splunk or Prometheus, and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime
• Participate in on-call rotations to handle production incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Contribute to the evolution of digital tools that enhance client experiences in investment banking services
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovations to improve operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR and SOX in all software deliverables
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning within the team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience with Java
• Strong experience in building and maintaining scalable, high-availability applications in a financial services environment
• Proficiency in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, with a focus on infrastructure as code
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in agile teams and deliver high-quality code under tight deadlines
• Understanding of financial regulations and data security standards relevant to banking

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience in the Commercial and Investment Banking domain at a major financial institution
• Certifications in Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) or SRE (e.g., Google SRE certification)
• Prior work with microservices architecture and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with JPMorgan Chase's internal tools and development methodologies
