In this critical role, you will optimize, manage, and enhance database performance for our high-volume card processing systems, ensuring seamless operations that support millions of daily transactions. As a key player in our technology organization, you will leverage your expertise in mainframe technologies to drive efficiency, reliability, and security in a dynamic financial environment where precision and compliance are paramount. Your primary focus will be on designing and maintaining robust DB2 and IMS databases within our z/OS mainframe infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineering teams to implement performance tuning strategies, execute backup and recovery procedures, and lead disaster recovery efforts to safeguard sensitive cardholder data against disruptions. Additionally, you will analyze database metrics, troubleshoot complex issues, and recommend architectural improvements to support the scalability of our card services platform, all while adhering to stringent regulatory standards like PCI-DSS and SOX that define the banking industry.
