Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain DB2 and IMS databases for JP Morgan Chase's Card Platform Services, ensuring high availability and scalability
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization to support real-time transaction processing in the financial services domain
  • Develop and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and compliance officers to enhance database architectures
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive maintenance for mainframe systems
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal security policies for sensitive financial data

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Mainframe DBA specializing in DB2 and IMS databases
  • Proven track record in optimizing and managing high-volume database systems in a financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of mainframe technologies including z/OS, JCL, and CICS
  • Experience with database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS and SOX in the banking sector
