Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced NLP models to analyze financial texts, sentiment, and market intelligence
• Collaborate with data scientists, quants, and business stakeholders to integrate NLP solutions into trading, risk management, and compliance systems at JP Morgan Chase
• Optimize NLP pipelines for efficiency and scalability, handling terabytes of financial data in real-time
• Conduct research on state-of-the-art NLP techniques, such as large language models (LLMs), and apply them to predictive analytics in capital markets
• Ensure model robustness, interpretability, and adherence to financial regulations, including bias mitigation in AI-driven decisions
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the NLP Center of Excellence within JP Morgan's Predictive Science team
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies like multimodal NLP for combining text with financial charts and audio transcripts
• Drive innovation in fraud detection and customer insights using NLP on transaction narratives and client communications
• Present findings and model performance to senior leadership to influence strategic decisions in global markets

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in natural language processing (NLP) engineering, with a focus on machine learning applications
• Proven track record of developing and deploying NLP models in production environments, particularly in financial services
• Strong proficiency in Python and relevant libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, Transformers, and Hugging Face
• Experience with large-scale data processing and model optimization for real-time financial applications
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in finance, including data privacy standards like GDPR and SEC requirements
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in NLP, AI, or Computational Linguistics
• Experience working at a major financial institution, such as investment banking or asset management
