Key Responsibilities

  • Lead resiliency design reviews for medium to large-sized products, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's enterprise standards
  • Break down complex reliability problems into actionable components and guide engineering teams through resolution
  • Act as a technical lead, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of reliability-first development
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define and implement service level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets
  • Conduct chaos engineering experiments to proactively identify and mitigate system weaknesses in financial platforms
  • Monitor and optimize system performance using tools like Prometheus and Grafana to maintain 99.99% uptime
  • Drive incident response processes, including root cause analysis and post-mortem documentation for production issues
  • Integrate security and compliance best practices into reliability engineering workflows
  • Contribute to the evolution of JP Morgan's internal SRE practices, sharing insights across global teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in site reliability engineering or DevOps roles
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams in designing and implementing resilient systems in a financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or Azure, with experience in high-availability architectures
  • Experience with resiliency design reviews and conducting post-incident analyses in mission-critical applications
