Key Responsibilities

• Lead resiliency design reviews for medium to large-sized products, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan's enterprise standards for availability and security
• Break down complex technical problems into actionable components, guiding engineering teams through implementation in financial systems
• Act as a technical lead, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of reliability engineering within the Hyderabad team
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and compliance teams to integrate SRE best practices into development lifecycles
• Design and execute chaos engineering experiments to proactively identify and mitigate risks in high-volume trading and payment platforms
• Monitor and optimize system performance using advanced tools, reducing downtime and ensuring 99.99% uptime for critical financial services
• Drive incident response and post-mortem analyses, implementing lessons learned to enhance overall platform resilience
• Contribute to the evolution of JP Morgan's global SRE framework, incorporating feedback from India-based operations
• Ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory requirements, including data privacy and audit trails for financial transactions
• Partner with cross-regional teams to scale reliable infrastructure supporting JP Morgan's digital banking and asset management products

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on site reliability engineering or DevOps
• Proven track record in leading technical teams on medium to large-scale projects in financial services or high-stakes environments
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with hands-on experience in infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Strong understanding of resiliency principles, including chaos engineering, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery in regulated industries
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk, and incident management processes (e.g., SRE practices)
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and comply with financial regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a global financial institution, ideally with exposure to trading systems or core banking platforms
• Certification in SRE (e.g., Google SRE) or cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• Background in agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines tailored to secure financial applications
• Familiarity with Java, Python, or Go for building reliability tools in a microservices architecture
• Prior leadership in cross-functional teams involving compliance, risk, and engineering stakeholders
