Key Responsibilities

• Lead resiliency design reviews for medium to large-scale products, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan's risk and compliance standards
• Break down complex technical problems into actionable components, guiding engineering teams through implementation in financial systems
• Act as a technical lead for product development, mentoring junior engineers on SRE best practices in a high-availability banking environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, focusing on uptime for trading platforms and customer-facing applications
• Implement and optimize monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to minimize downtime in global financial operations
• Drive adoption of automation and infrastructure as code to support scalable, secure deployments in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Conduct post-incident analyses and contribute to continuous improvement of SRE practices within JP Morgan's technology ecosystem
• Partner with stakeholders to define service level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets for critical financial services
• Advocate for chaos engineering and resilience testing to proactively identify vulnerabilities in payment and risk management systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on site reliability engineering or DevOps in a financial services environment
• Proven track record leading technical teams in designing and implementing resilient systems for high-stakes applications
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS or Azure, with experience in financial regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and observability tools in a banking context
• Experience conducting resiliency design reviews and risk assessments for mission-critical financial platforms
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for handling sensitive financial data

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at a major financial institution like JP Morgan Chase or similar, with exposure to trading, risk management, or payment systems
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional SRE, or equivalent
• Background in agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines tailored to regulated industries
• Familiarity with machine learning for predictive reliability in financial operations
• Prior leadership in cross-functional teams spanning engineering, operations, and compliance
