Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native applications using Azure services to support JP Morgan Chase's financial platforms
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers in best practices for Azure-based development and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and compliance officers to ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements
• Implement secure, scalable infrastructure using Azure tools to handle high-volume financial transactions
• Drive the adoption of DevOps methodologies, including automation of testing, deployment, and monitoring in Azure environments
• Conduct code reviews, optimize performance, and ensure adherence to JP Morgan's engineering standards
• Identify and mitigate risks in cloud architectures, focusing on data security and resilience for banking applications
• Stay abreast of Azure innovations and integrate them into JP Morgan's technology roadmap
• Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives for cloud projects
• Support production incidents and lead root cause analysis to improve system reliability

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on cloud platforms
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure services including Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Strong experience in designing and implementing scalable, secure cloud architectures in a financial services environment
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding engineering teams through complex projects
• In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or ARM templates
• Experience with compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and financial regulations relevant to banking

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in banking or capital markets
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
• Familiarity with big data technologies like Azure Synapse Analytics or Cosmos DB
• Prior experience leading migrations from on-premises to Azure cloud environments

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Azure cloud services (App Service, Functions, AKS, Storage)
• Expertise in .NET, Java, or Python for backend development
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB)
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
• Security implementation including Azure Active Directory, Key Vault, and encryption
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
• Monitoring and logging with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
• Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure Boards
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking in high-stakes financial environments
• Leadership and communication skills for team collaboration
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API management (e.g., Azure API Management)
• Data processing with Azure Stream Analytics or Event Hubs
