Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of back-end services for Chase UK's digital banking platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, front-end engineers, and data scientists to deliver robust financial solutions
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering best practices in code quality and agile methodologies
• Ensure system scalability, security, and reliability to handle high-volume transactions in a 24/7 banking environment
• Conduct code reviews, implement CI/CD pipelines, and optimize performance for low-latency financial operations
• Integrate third-party APIs and services while maintaining compliance with UK financial regulations
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments, minimizing downtime for customer-facing applications
• Contribute to architectural decisions, including the adoption of cloud-native technologies for Chase's global infrastructure
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovations to enhance the digital banking experience
• Document technical specifications and processes to support knowledge sharing across JP Morgan Chase teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on back-end development
• Strong proficiency in Java or similar object-oriented programming languages
• Experience with building and maintaining scalable, high-performance back-end systems in a financial services environment
• Knowledge of database design and optimization, including SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and containerization tools like Docker
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and mentoring junior developers

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience in the banking or fintech sector, particularly with digital banking platforms
