Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based data engineering solutions using Python, Java, and Spark to support JP Morgan's financial data modernization efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable data pipelines that ensure high availability and performance in a regulated financial environment
• Drive technical innovation by integrating advanced data practices, such as real-time processing and machine learning, into cloud platforms
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain best practices in software development and data security
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges in data ingestion, transformation, and analytics for banking and investment services
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX) in all cloud data solutions developed
• Optimize existing legacy systems for cloud migration, reducing costs and improving efficiency for JP Morgan's global operations
• Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and delivery of high-impact features
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to maintain uptime and data integrity in high-stakes financial applications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud data platforms
• Proficiency in Python and Java for developing scalable data applications
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for big data processing and analytics
• Strong background in cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries, understanding data security and compliance
• Proven track record of leading technical projects from inception to deployment

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Data Engineering
