Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable cloud-based platforms using Python and AWS services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in financial services technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery of high-quality software in a regulated financial environment
• Ensure compliance with industry standards for data security, privacy, and risk management in all platform engineering initiatives
• Architect resilient infrastructure using AWS tools like EC2, Lambda, S3, and VPC to support mission-critical banking applications
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive performance enhancements for cloud platforms
• Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and integrate them to enhance JP Morgan Chase's technological edge
• Partner with stakeholders to translate financial business requirements into technical roadmaps and deliverables
• Contribute to the evolution of engineering best practices within the Cloud Platform Engineering team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in cloud platform engineering
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in designing and delivering scalable cloud solutions using AWS
• Strong proficiency in Python for developing robust backend services and automation scripts
• Deep knowledge of financial services regulations and security standards, such as PCI-DSS and GDPR
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional
• Experience in financial technology (FinTech) projects, including trading platforms or risk management systems
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and data pipelines in cloud environments
• Prior leadership role in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes on AWS EKS

Required Skills

• Expertise in Python programming for cloud-native applications
• Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API development
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Knowledge of security best practices in financial systems (e.g., encryption, access controls)
• Skills in automation and scripting for DevOps workflows
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling
• Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking in complex environments
• Leadership and communication skills for team collaboration
• Version control with Git and collaborative coding practices
• Performance optimization and monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus)
• Understanding of financial protocols and compliance frameworks
