We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Core, a hands-on Vice President position within our Core Architecture/Engineering team in Jersey City, NJ. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of core architecture for wholesale credit risk platforms, ensuring scalability and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk analysts, data scientists, and compliance experts to define technical requirements
• Implement full-stack solutions using modern technologies to enhance credit risk assessment and reporting capabilities
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment
• Drive innovation in core engineering by integrating emerging technologies like AI/ML for real-time risk monitoring
• Ensure adherence to JP Morgan's security standards and regulatory compliance in all system developments
• Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues in high-volume transaction environments
• Contribute to agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to deliver iterative improvements
• Partner with global stakeholders to align core engineering efforts with broader firm-wide initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering, with a focus on core architecture in financial services
• Proven track record in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems for risk management or credit platforms
• Strong understanding of wholesale credit risk processes and regulatory requirements in banking
• Experience leading engineering teams in agile environments within a large financial institution
• Hands-on expertise in cloud-native architectures and microservices deployment
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for handling sensitive financial data

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Finance-related field
• Prior experience at JP Morgan Chase or similar Tier 1 bank in credit risk technology
• Certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for enterprise-scale applications
• Knowledge of Basel III/IV regulations and their impact on credit risk systems
• Experience with machine learning integration for predictive risk modeling
