Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Python-based applications on the Athena platform to support commodities trading workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, quants, and compliance to deliver innovative solutions for market data processing and risk management
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering agile practices and code quality standards
• Ensure all developed systems adhere to JPMorgan's security protocols and financial regulatory requirements
• Optimize and scale existing commodities systems to handle high-volume, real-time data in a stable manner
• Conduct code reviews, implement CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshoot production issues in a 24/7 trading environment
• Drive technical innovation by integrating advanced analytics and machine learning for commodities pricing models
• Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives to continuously improve team delivery and product reliability
• Liaise with global stakeholders to align engineering efforts with broader JPMorgan Chase business objectives in commodities
• Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to support scalable growth in trading volumes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on Python development
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in agile environments within the financial services sector
• Strong understanding of commodities trading systems and market data handling
• Experience with building scalable, secure applications in a high-stakes financial environment
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, with emphasis on secure deployment practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor junior engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Finance-related field
• Experience with JPMorgan's Athena platform or similar big data processing frameworks
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in commodities trading (e.g., MiFID II, EMIR)
