Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance applications on HP NonStop Tandem platforms to support JP Morgan Chase's core banking and payment processing systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and compliance experts, to deliver solutions that meet stringent financial regulatory standards
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence in a fast-paced financial services environment
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges in mission-critical systems, ensuring 99.999% uptime for global transaction processing
• Drive the modernization of legacy NonStop applications, integrating with emerging technologies like microservices and AI-driven analytics
• Conduct code reviews, performance optimizations, and security assessments to safeguard sensitive financial data
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures that enhance operational efficiency
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, such as risk management tools and fraud detection systems, leveraging NonStop's fault-tolerant capabilities
• Stay abreast of industry trends in fintech and advocate for best practices in software engineering within JP Morgan Chase

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on HP NonStop Tandem systems
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams in high-stakes financial environments
• Strong understanding of financial services regulations and compliance requirements, such as SOX and PCI-DSS
• Experience with mission-critical systems ensuring 24/7 availability in banking operations
• Demonstrated ability to drive business impact through technology solutions in a large-scale enterprise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time transaction processing in payment systems or core banking platforms
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud integrations involving NonStop Tandem and modern AWS or Azure environments
• Certification in HP NonStop technologies or related vendor-specific credentials

• Expertise in HP NonStop Tandem programming languages like COBOL, Enscribe, and Pathway
• Proficiency in high-availability system design and fault-tolerant architectures

• Experience with transaction processing monitors and real-time data handling
• Skills in system performance tuning and capacity planning for financial workloads
• Familiarity with security protocols for financial data, including encryption and access controls

• Understanding of financial protocols like SWIFT, ISO 20022, and ACH processing
