Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of core components for JP Morgan's next-generation trading platform using Java and AWS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, quants, and compliance to define technical requirements
• Implement scalable, resilient microservices to handle high-volume financial transactions
• Optimize system performance for low-latency trading in global markets
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices in financial software development
• Integrate AWS services to enhance cloud-native capabilities for data processing and analytics
• Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies to improve trading efficiency and risk management
• Ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory compliance in all platform features
• Participate in agile sprints, from sprint planning to deployment and monitoring
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments under tight deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Java programming with experience in building scalable applications
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS
• Proven track record in developing high-performance trading or financial systems
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines in a financial services environment
• Deep understanding of software design patterns and microservices architecture

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience with real-time data processing and low-latency systems in trading platforms
• Familiarity with financial regulations such as MiFID II or Dodd-Frank
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• Prior work at a major financial institution on capital markets technology

Required Skills

• Expertise in Java 8+ and Spring Boot framework
• Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure and serverless architectures
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven programming
• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle, or NoSQL solutions
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Skills in RESTful APIs, messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Understanding of financial protocols and trading workflows
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking in high-pressure environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Agile and DevOps practices including Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Security best practices for financial applications
