Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of critical software solutions using Java and AWS technologies
• Collaborate with agile teams to deliver high-quality tech solutions across multiple technical domains in the financial services sector
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and best practices
• Ensure application security, scalability, and performance optimization in cloud environments
• Integrate systems with JP Morgan Chase's core banking platforms and third-party financial services
• Conduct code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain robust, reliable applications
• Drive continuous improvement by adopting emerging technologies and DevOps practices
• Contribute to risk management and compliance efforts in line with regulatory standards
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to align with business objectives
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for financial applications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Java development
• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable applications on AWS cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers
• Experience in financial services or high-stakes environments with emphasis on security and compliance
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of financial regulations such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, or SOX compliance
• Prior work at a large financial institution or fintech company
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional)

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java (JDK 8+), Spring Boot, and related frameworks
• Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) like Oracle, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
• Understanding of security best practices, encryption, and OAuth/JWT
• Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking in complex environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Leadership and team mentoring abilities
• Knowledge of financial domain concepts (e.g., payments, trading systems)
• Version control with Git and code quality tools (SonarQube)
