Key Responsibilities

• Lead a global team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions for JP Morgan Chase's Payments Technology platform
• Architect and implement Java-based applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and security in high-volume financial transactions
• Drive DevOps initiatives, including automation of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment strategies using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and Kubernetes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and compliance experts, to align technology with business objectives in the financial services domain
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices for secure payments processing, such as fraud detection and data encryption
• Optimize system performance and scalability to handle global payment volumes, integrating with core banking systems and third-party APIs
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead incident response for production environments
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and contribute to strategic roadmaps for Payments Technology at JP Morgan Chase

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Java development and DevOps practices
• Proven leadership experience in managing global engineering teams in a financial services environment
• Strong understanding of scalable software architecture and cloud-native technologies
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and compliance standards in the payments and financial sector (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with a track record of delivering mission-critical systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at JP Morgan Chase or similar large-scale financial institutions
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with emphasis on DevOps tools
• Background in payments technology, including real-time processing and transaction systems
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git
• Advanced knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems

Required Skills

• Expertise in Java programming, including Spring Boot and microservices development
• Proficiency in DevOps tools: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for scalable infrastructure
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB in financial contexts
• Understanding of API design (RESTful, GraphQL) and integration with payment gateways
• Skills in monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, ELK Stack, Splunk)
• Leadership and team management abilities in global, distributed environments
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking for complex system troubleshooting
• Communication skills for stakeholder engagement and technical documentation
• Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control with Git
• Security practices, including OAuth, JWT, and vulnerability assessment
• Scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation
• Knowledge of financial protocols (ISO 20022, SWIFT) and transaction processing
