Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java-based applications using Spark for processing large-scale financial datasets
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to deliver critical tech solutions in risk analytics and compliance
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS infrastructure, optimizing for cost and performance in a secure banking environment
• Implement data pipelines and ETL processes to support real-time trading and fraud detection systems
• Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and mentor junior engineers
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments, minimizing downtime for global financial operations
• Integrate machine learning models into Spark workflows for predictive analytics in investment banking
• Contribute to architectural decisions, focusing on scalability and resilience for high-volume transaction processing
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and apply them to enhance JP Morgan's tech stack
• Ensure all solutions comply with regulatory requirements and internal security policies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java
• Proven experience with Apache Spark for big data processing
• Hands-on expertise in AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, and Lambda
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in financial services or high-stakes data environments
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for banking systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
