Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable Java-based applications hosted on AWS for client-facing financial services
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with regulatory standards
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster best practices in software engineering within the team
• Implement secure, resilient systems to handle high-volume transactions and real-time data processing in the financial domain
• Optimize application performance and scalability using AWS services like EC2, Lambda, and S3
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in mission-critical environments, minimizing downtime for global banking operations
• Drive agile methodologies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to deliver high-quality software iteratively
• Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance client applications for wealth management and investment banking
• Contribute to innovation initiatives, such as adopting microservices architecture for improved system modularity
• Ensure compliance with JP Morgan Chase's security policies and financial industry regulations like GDPR and SOX

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Java development
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying applications on AWS cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of financial services domain, including regulatory compliance and secure data handling
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in agile environments
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues in high-stakes, mission-critical systems
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's internal tools and frameworks, such as proprietary trading platforms
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional)
• Background in developing client-facing applications in the banking or fintech sector
• Knowledge of machine learning integration for financial analytics
• Prior leadership role in a large-scale financial institution

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java 8+ and Spring Boot framework
• Expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation)
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and Docker/Kubernetes
• Understanding of security best practices, including OAuth, encryption, and vulnerability scanning
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Jira
• Problem-solving and analytical skills for complex financial systems
• Leadership and team collaboration abilities
• Communication skills for stakeholder engagement
• Knowledge of financial protocols and data standards (e.g., FIX, SWIFT)
