Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend Java applications on AWS infrastructure for financial services platforms
• Integrate AI/ML models into core banking systems to enhance features like risk assessment and customer personalization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product managers, and compliance experts to build scalable solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality, secure code adhering to JP Morgan's standards
• Optimize application performance and reliability in cloud environments, focusing on cost-efficiency and fault tolerance
• Implement secure coding practices to protect sensitive financial data and comply with industry regulations
• Contribute to the build-out of a new engineering team, defining best practices for AI-driven development
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments supporting global banking operations
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies in AI and cloud computing to drive innovation in financial products
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to deliver iterative improvements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend development
• Strong proficiency in Java programming, including experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS
• Demonstrated knowledge of AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, with practical application in data processing
• Experience in financial services or fintech environments, understanding regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
• Proven track record of leading small teams in agile development environments

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Data Science
