Key Responsibilities

• Lead resiliency design reviews for software products, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's enterprise standards and financial regulations
• Break down complex technical problems into manageable components, guiding development teams toward scalable solutions
• Act as a technical lead for medium to large-sized products, mentoring engineers and fostering best practices in software engineering
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate resiliency features into the software development lifecycle
• Conduct risk assessments and implement fault-tolerant architectures to minimize downtime in critical financial systems
• Drive adoption of chaos engineering and simulation techniques to test system resilience under failure scenarios
• Monitor and optimize system performance, leveraging metrics to enhance reliability in high-volume transaction environments
• Contribute to the evolution of JP Morgan Chase's technology stack, advocating for innovative tools that support business continuity
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory frameworks in all engineering decisions
• Provide technical guidance during incident response, helping to restore services swiftly and analyze root causes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or technical lead role
• Proven experience in designing and implementing resilient systems in high-stakes environments like financial services
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS or similar, and microservices architecture
• Experience conducting design reviews and breaking down complex technical problems into actionable solutions
• Demonstrated ability to lead medium to large-sized product development teams in agile environments
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk, compliance, and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with regulatory requirements like Dodd-Frank or Basel III
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Kubernetes Administrator
• Background in chaos engineering tools like Chaos Monkey or Gremlin for resiliency testing
• Prior work at a large-scale financial institution, with knowledge of secure coding practices in fintech
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with a focus on distributed systems

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go for backend development
• Expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, with focus on services such as EC2, Lambda, and RDS
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and API design (REST/GraphQL)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
• Skills in database management, including SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB)
• Chaos engineering and resiliency testing methodologies
• Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence for project management
• Secure coding practices and vulnerability assessment (e.g., OWASP top 10)
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking for complex system troubleshooting
• Leadership and mentoring abilities to guide engineering teams
