Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of reliable AWS infrastructure using Terraform for the Sales, Research, and Data portfolio
• Collaborate with engineering teams to automate deployments and ensure operational stability in a 24/7 financial services environment
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive reliability measures to minimize downtime
• Develop and maintain SLOs (Service Level Objectives) and SLIs (Service Level Indicators) for critical financial applications
• Conduct incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews to enhance system resilience
• Optimize AWS resources for cost-efficiency while adhering to JP Morgan's security and compliance standards
• Mentor junior SREs and foster a culture of reliability engineering within the team
• Integrate security best practices, including encryption and access controls, into infrastructure code
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as chaos engineering, to test and strengthen system robustness
• Partner with stakeholders in Sales and Research to align infrastructure with business objectives in a fast-paced market

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps roles within cloud environments
• Proven expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, including services like EC2, S3, VPC, and Lambda
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) in large-scale deployments
• Strong understanding of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch for monitoring financial systems
• Experience in ensuring high availability and disaster recovery for mission-critical applications in regulated industries
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions in a financial services context

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Terraform Associate
• Experience in the financial services sector, particularly with sales, research, and data platforms
• Knowledge of compliance standards like GDPR, PCI-DSS, and SOX for handling sensitive financial data
• Prior leadership experience mentoring SRE teams in agile environments
• Background in optimizing costs and performance for AWS portfolios in high-stakes trading or research systems

• Expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture

• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
• Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
