Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial integrity of JP Morgan Chase's legal entities in Japan, ensuring accurate and timely regulatory reporting
  • Manage regulatory risk assessments and compliance with local and international financial standards
  • Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks
  • Collaborate with global finance teams to align entity-level reporting with firm-wide policies
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of financial processes to ensure adherence to JP Morgan's risk management framework
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to resolve compliance issues
  • Monitor changes in regulatory landscapes and advise on their impact to business operations
  • Support ad-hoc projects related to financial restructuring or new regulatory initiatives
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of controllership best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master's in Finance) preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, or controllership within the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local Japanese regulatory requirements (e.g., J-GAAP, FIEA)
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent in Japan
  • Proven experience in managing legal entity financial controls and risk management processes
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (business level), with excellent written and verbal communication skills
