Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of corporate agreements, including vendor contracts, NDAs, and partnership deals
  • Conduct thorough legal research on regulatory compliance issues relevant to JP Morgan Chase's operations in India
  • Advise internal business teams on legal risks associated with financial products and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure agreements align with company policies and global standards
  • Monitor changes in Indian financial regulations and assess their impact on JP Morgan Chase's activities
  • Prepare legal memos, opinions, and reports for senior management
  • Support litigation and dispute resolution efforts related to contractual matters
  • Assist in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, or new market entries
  • Maintain accurate records of legal documents and ensure compliance with data privacy laws
  • Mentor junior legal staff and contribute to team training initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in India or relevant jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate law, preferably in financial services
  • Strong understanding of Indian contract law and regulatory frameworks
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in drafting and negotiating agreements for banking or financial institutions
  • Knowledge of international financial regulations such as GDPR or SEBI guidelines
