Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy state-of-the-art NLP models to analyze financial texts, including news, reports, and customer communications for predictive insights
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers in the MLCOE to integrate NLP solutions into JPMorgan's risk management and trading systems
• Conduct research on emerging NLP techniques, such as large language models, to enhance fraud detection and market sentiment analysis
• Optimize models for scalability and efficiency using JPMorgan's unique financial datasets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the MLCOE's knowledge-sharing initiatives on AI applications in finance
• Evaluate model performance using metrics tailored to financial outcomes, like precision in anomaly detection
• Work closely with business stakeholders to translate financial challenges into NLP-driven solutions
• Stay abreast of industry trends in AI and NLP, applying innovations to solve real-world banking problems

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on machine learning or natural language processing
• 3+ years of professional experience in developing and deploying NLP models in a production environment
• Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers
• Demonstrated experience with large-scale datasets, particularly in financial domains like sentiment analysis or risk assessment
• Proven track record of publishing research or contributing to open-source projects in NLP
