Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement state-of-the-art NLP models to analyze unstructured financial data, including news articles, earnings calls, and regulatory filings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the Machine Learning Center of Excellence (MLCOE) to integrate NLP solutions into JP Morgan Chase's predictive analytics platforms
• Design experiments to evaluate model performance on financial tasks such as fraud detection, risk assessment, and customer sentiment analysis
• Optimize NLP pipelines for scalability and efficiency using JP Morgan's unique datasets and cloud infrastructure
• Stay abreast of emerging NLP research and apply innovative techniques to solve complex financial problems
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the MLCOE's knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and data privacy standards in all model deployments
• Present findings and model insights to senior stakeholders to drive business decisions in areas like investment banking and asset management
• Contribute to the development of reusable NLP toolkits for broader use across JP Morgan Chase's global operations

Required Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field with a focus on machine learning or natural language processing
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in developing and deploying NLP models in a production environment
• Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Proven track record of applying NLP techniques to real-world problems, preferably in financial services or large-scale data environments
• Experience with handling large-scale datasets and optimizing models for efficiency in cloud-based infrastructures
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced financial institution
