Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable mainframe applications integrated with cloud technologies to support JP Morgan Chase's financial products
• Collaborate with agile teams to deliver market-leading technology solutions for trading, risk management, and customer banking systems
• Lead the migration of legacy mainframe systems to cloud-native architectures, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity
• Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging of complex software components in a high-stakes financial environment
• Optimize performance of mainframe-cloud hybrid systems to handle high-volume transactions and real-time data processing
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and JP Morgan's security standards in all development activities
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, implementing proactive solutions to maintain system reliability
• Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives to continuously improve development processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on mainframe technologies
• Proven experience in cloud migration and hybrid cloud environments, particularly with AWS or Azure
• Strong knowledge of mainframe systems including z/OS, CICS, and IMS
• Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in a financial services context
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for handling sensitive financial data

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's internal tools and platforms, such as mainframe cloud migration initiatives
• Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or mainframe (e.g., IBM z/OS certification)
• Prior work in the financial services industry, including knowledge of regulatory compliance like SOX and GDPR

Required Skills

• Proficiency in mainframe programming languages like COBOL, JCL, and Assembler
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for hybrid integrations
• Strong understanding of database management systems including DB2 and SQL
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and containerization tools like Docker
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and encryption for financial data
• Agile and Scrum methodologies for collaborative software development
• Problem-solving and analytical skills for complex system troubleshooting
• Communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration
• Version control with Git and code repository management
• Performance tuning and monitoring tools for mainframe and cloud environments
• Familiarity with API development and microservices architecture
