Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams focused on data engineering initiatives using Spark, Kafka, and Java
• Oversee day-to-day implementation activities, ensuring high-quality code delivery and adherence to best practices
• Set strategic guidance for team output, development practices, and cross-functional collaboration within JP Morgan Chase
• Design and architect scalable data pipelines to support financial analytics, risk management, and trading systems
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and data security standards in all engineering projects
• Monitor and optimize system performance, troubleshooting complex issues in high-volume data environments
• Drive adoption of agile methodologies and DevOps practices to accelerate delivery in a global banking context

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data engineering
• Proven leadership experience managing multiple engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong proficiency in Java, Apache Spark, and Kafka for building scalable data pipelines
• Experience in financial services or large-scale enterprise environments handling sensitive data
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical strategy and mentor junior engineers
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP in a financial context
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR, SOX, or Basel III

• Certification in big data technologies (e.g., Cloudera Spark or Confluent Kafka)
