Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple software engineering teams focused on data engineering initiatives
• Oversee day-to-day implementation of data pipelines, ensuring scalability and reliability for financial applications
• Set strategic guidance for team practices, fostering collaboration and innovation in data handling
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals in risk management and trading systems
• Drive the adoption of best practices in data governance, security, and compliance within JPMorgan's global infrastructure
• Manage resource allocation, performance reviews, and professional development for team members
• Identify and resolve technical challenges in large-scale data environments, optimizing for cost and performance
• Contribute to architectural decisions for cloud-based data solutions supporting JPMorgan's financial services
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure high-quality output
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across engineering teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in data engineering roles
• Proven track record of leading and managing multiple engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data technologies in the financial services sector
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work in a regulated environment with knowledge of financial data security and compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the banking or financial services industry, particularly with JPMorgan Chase systems
• Certification in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Background in machine learning or AI applications for financial data processing
• Prior experience managing offshore teams in India
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks like GDPR, SOX, or Basel III

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and scripting
• Expertise in big data tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, EMR) or Azure Data Factory
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift)
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Skills in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar
• Leadership and team management abilities
