Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple software engineering teams in the design, development, and deployment of Java-based applications on AWS
• Manage day-to-day implementation activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards
• Set overall guidance for team output, engineering practices, and collaboration across distributed teams
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define technical roadmaps for financial services solutions
• Oversee the adoption of best practices in cloud security, scalability, and compliance with industry regulations like GDPR and SOX
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Identify and mitigate technical risks in high-stakes financial systems, ensuring 99.99% uptime
• Drive integration of emerging technologies to enhance trading platforms, risk management tools, and customer-facing applications
• Report on team performance metrics and contribute to strategic planning for JP Morgan Chase's technology initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on Java development
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams in agile environments
• Proven track record in cloud architecture and deployment using AWS services
• Strong understanding of financial services regulations and data security standards
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in a large-scale enterprise setting
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical strategy and innovation in fintech

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's internal tools and platforms
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional)
• Background in developing secure payment processing or trading systems
• Prior leadership in DevOps practices for high-availability financial applications

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java programming and Spring Boot framework
• Expertise in AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline
• Understanding of database management with SQL and NoSQL (e.g., Oracle, DynamoDB)
• Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
