Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining low-latency core banking applications that support real-time transaction processing
• Oversee the architecture and implementation of high-performance systems to ensure minimal latency in financial operations
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and compliance teams to align engineering efforts with business goals in the financial services industry
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within JP Morgan Chase's engineering practices
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, optimizing code and infrastructure for scalability and reliability in high-volume banking environments
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for low-latency systems
• Monitor system performance metrics and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve latency issues in core banking workflows
• Contribute to strategic planning for technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's global banking initiatives
• Ensure all developments comply with financial regulations and security standards specific to the banking sector

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
• Proven experience developing low-latency applications in the financial services sector, particularly core banking systems
• Strong understanding of high-frequency trading, real-time data processing, and financial transaction protocols
• Experience with agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables for complex software projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's technology stack or similar enterprise financial platforms
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in banking (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, or SOX)
• Prior work in optimizing systems for sub-millisecond latency in core banking applications
• Certification in cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, with focus on financial services

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python for low-latency application development
• Expertise in real-time systems, multithreading, and concurrency programming
• Knowledge of messaging protocols like Kafka or RabbitMQ for high-throughput data handling
