Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable payment platforms that handle billions of transactions annually
• Oversee the architecture of distributed systems ensuring high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance in a 24/7 financial services environment
• Collaborate with product managers, risk, and compliance teams to integrate regulatory requirements into engineering practices
• Drive agile methodologies, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within JPMorgan Chase's technology organization
• Identify and mitigate technical risks in payment processing, including cybersecurity threats and system performance bottlenecks
• Partner with global stakeholders to align platform enhancements with JPMorgan's strategic goals in digital payments and treasury services
• Monitor and optimize system performance using metrics and tools to ensure seamless integration with core banking systems
• Contribute to technology roadmaps, evaluating new tools and frameworks to enhance payment platform capabilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
• Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems in high-volume environments, particularly in financial services
• Strong understanding of payment processing platforms, including real-time transaction handling and regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, SWIFT standards)
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in agile environments, with a focus on delivering secure, reliable software solutions
• Demonstrated ability to lead technology initiatives in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting like banking and payments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture for enterprise-scale applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience in fintech or banking sector, specifically with payment gateways or core banking systems
• Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or security (e.g., CISSP)
• Prior leadership in open-source contributions or innovation in payment technologies
• Knowledge of blockchain or emerging payment technologies relevant to JPMorgan's initiatives
