Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining distributed trading systems using Java, React, and Python
• Collaborate with traders, quants, and compliance teams to define requirements for low-latency trading applications
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from architecture to deployment, ensuring high availability and performance
• Mentor and coach team members on best practices in coding, testing, and debugging for financial systems
• Drive innovation in trading technology, incorporating emerging tools for real-time market data processing
• Ensure systems comply with regulatory standards such as SEC, FINRA, and internal JPMorgan Chase policies
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver scalable solutions for global trading operations
• Conduct code reviews, implement CI/CD pipelines, and optimize systems for high-volume transaction handling
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the engineering team
• Liaise with senior stakeholders to align technical roadmaps with business objectives in capital markets

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
• Proven hands-on experience developing distributed systems using Java, React, and Python
• Strong understanding of financial trading systems, including low-latency processing and risk management
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment like banking
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical excellence
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in financial services

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-frequency trading platforms or real-time data processing in capital markets
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for scalable trading infrastructure
• Prior work at a major financial institution, ideally in trading or market-making systems
• Certifications in Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) or relevant financial tech areas
• Experience integrating AI/ML components into trading systems for predictive analytics
