Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly market risk reports for senior management and regulatory submissions
  • Analyze market data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks using statistical methods and visualization tools
  • Collaborate with trading, risk, and technology teams to ensure accurate data flows and reporting integrity
  • Drive process improvements in risk reporting workflows, including automation of manual tasks to enhance efficiency
  • Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to assess portfolio impacts under various market conditions
  • Support ad-hoc risk analysis requests and contribute to regulatory audits and examinations
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations, escalating issues as needed
  • Document reporting methodologies and maintain a repository of risk metrics and definitions
  • Participate in team initiatives to adopt new technologies for advanced risk analytics
  • Contribute to the training and onboarding of junior analysts in market risk practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in risk management, financial reporting, or data analysis within the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in SQL and data querying for extracting and manipulating large datasets
  • Strong understanding of market risk concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR), stress testing, and sensitivity analysis
  • Experience with financial modeling and reporting tools such as Excel (advanced level) or Python/R for data analysis
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for market risk reporting, such as Basel III or Dodd-Frank
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle confidential information with integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Finance or Risk Management
