Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks across Mexico-based business units at JP Morgan Chase
  • Develop and implement robust control frameworks to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to embed risk management practices into daily operations and strategic initiatives
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and control testing to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions
  • Oversee the reporting of control metrics and key risk indicators to global risk management teams
  • Facilitate training programs on control management best practices for local and regional staff
  • Monitor emerging risks in the financial services landscape, including cybersecurity and regulatory changes in Mexico
  • Drive continuous improvement in control processes to enhance operational resilience and efficiency
  • Act as a key advisor to business leaders on risk-related decisions impacting JP Morgan Chase's Mexico operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in control management, risk assessment, or compliance within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record in leading risk identification and mitigation programs in a multinational banking environment
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and local Mexican financial regulations
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams in a high-stakes financial operations setting
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Relevant certifications such as CRISC, CISA, or FRM
