Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of advanced NLP and LLM solutions to drive innovation in JP Morgan Chase's financial services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to identify and solve predictive science challenges
• Design, prototype, and scale machine learning models for applications in risk assessment, customer insights, and automated trading
• Mentor junior team members in the Machine Learning Centre of Excellence, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
• Conduct research on state-of-the-art LLMs and integrate them into JP Morgan's AI ecosystem while ensuring compliance with financial regulations
• Evaluate model performance, optimize for efficiency, and monitor for biases in AI-driven financial decision-making
• Contribute to strategic initiatives by providing AI expertise to enhance operational efficiency and client services at JP Morgan Chase
• Stay abreast of emerging trends in AI/ML and NLP, applying them to real-world financial problems
• Document and present findings on AI projects to senior leadership, influencing firm-wide technology adoption

Required Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML
• 5+ years of professional experience in NLP and LLM development, preferably in financial services
• Proven track record of leading AI/ML projects from ideation to production deployment
• Strong understanding of machine learning frameworks and tools, with hands-on experience in large-scale data processing
• Experience in collaborative environments, including cross-functional teams in a corporate setting
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in financial AI applications, such as data privacy and ethical AI
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at a major financial institution like JP Morgan Chase
• Publications or contributions to open-source projects in NLP/LLM domains
• Knowledge of financial domain-specific challenges, such as fraud detection or risk modeling using AI
• Certification in AI ethics or machine learning from recognized bodies
• Prior leadership role in an AI Centre of Excellence or similar innovation hub

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python, R, or Java for AI/ML development
• Expertise in NLP libraries such as Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, and NLTK
• Experience with LLMs like GPT, BERT, or Llama models and fine-tuning techniques
• Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn
• Data processing skills with tools like Pandas, NumPy, and big data platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
• Understanding of cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for scalable AI deployments
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for ML model deployment
• Analytical problem-solving and critical thinking in complex financial datasets
• Leadership and team collaboration skills in agile environments
• Communication abilities to bridge technical and business domains
• Knowledge of ethical AI practices and bias mitigation in financial applications
• Experience with SQL and database management for financial data handling
• Proficiency in model evaluation metrics (e.g., BLEU, ROUGE for NLP; accuracy, F1-score for ML)
