Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end processing of real-time payments for J.P. Morgan Chase's Sydney Branch, ensuring timely and accurate execution
  • Monitor and resolve payment exceptions, discrepancies, and inquiries in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, compliance, and client services to optimize payment workflows
  • Perform daily reconciliations of payment transactions and maintain accurate records in J.P. Morgan's core systems
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks in real-time payment processing, including fraud detection and error prevention
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency in the NPP ecosystem
  • Provide training and guidance to junior associates on payments operations best practices
  • Ensure adherence to AML/KYC protocols and reporting requirements for all transactions
  • Liaise with external partners such as the Reserve Bank of Australia and NPP participants to resolve issues
  • Generate reports on payment volumes, performance metrics, and operational KPIs for senior management

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payments operations, transaction processing, or real-time payments within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of real-time payment systems such as NPP (New Payments Platform) in Australia
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance standards for payments, including APRA and ASIC requirements
  • Experience with SWIFT, ISO 20022 messaging standards, and core banking systems
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume transaction environments with accuracy
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Payments Professional (CPP) or equivalent
