About the Role

At JPMorgan Chase, we're shaping the future of financial services through innovative technology that powers global banking, investment, and asset management. As a Principal Software Engineer in Engineering Tools & Productivity, you'll play a pivotal role in architecting and building tools that 15,000 Chase engineers rely on daily to deliver secure, efficient, and compliant solutions. Based in our Bengaluru office, you'll have the freedom to innovate with a modern tech stack, focusing on high-scale systems that drive real impact in a dynamic fintech landscape. This hands-on role combines technical leadership with strategic influence, ensuring our engineering ecosystem supports the firm's mission to serve millions of clients worldwide while adhering to stringent regulatory standards. You'll collaborate across global teams to embed best practices for code quality, security scanning, and compliance checks tailored to financial services—such as anti-money laundering protocols and data sovereignty. By leveraging cloud-native technologies and AI/ML for productivity gains, you'll optimize workflows that reduce deployment times and enhance reliability, directly contributing to faster innovation in areas like digital banking and risk analytics. This position offers the autonomy to prototype bold ideas while mentoring others to build a culture of excellence. We're seeking a seasoned engineer passionate about developer experience in high-stakes environments. With JPMorgan's unparalleled resources, you'll tackle challenges at the intersection of technology and finance, from handling massive transaction volumes to pioneering sustainable tech practices. Join us to make a tangible difference in one of the world's leading financial institutions, where your work empowers engineers to focus on what matters most: creating value for clients and communities.
