Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable engineering tools and platforms that empower 15,000+ Chase engineers to build secure, compliant financial applications efficiently
• Design and implement modern CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks to accelerate software delivery in a regulated banking environment
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering leads, and compliance teams to ensure tools meet JPMorgan's security and regulatory standards
• Lead the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, such as cloud-native services and AI-driven productivity enhancements, within the financial services stack
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and best practices in developer tools
• Optimize tool performance for high-scale usage, handling petabyte-level data and global team workflows
• Conduct code reviews, contribute to technical roadmaps, and drive continuous improvement in engineering productivity metrics
• Integrate tools with JPMorgan's internal systems, including risk management and audit logging for financial compliance
• Prototype and iterate on new features based on engineer feedback to maximize real-world impact
• Stay abreast of industry trends in fintech tooling and apply them to enhance Chase's competitive edge

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in building and maintaining large-scale engineering tools
• Proven track record of architecting and delivering high-impact developer productivity tools used by thousands of engineers
• Deep expertise in modern software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cloud-native architectures
• Strong understanding of financial services regulations and security requirements, such as data privacy and compliance standards
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, enterprise environment like banking or fintech
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex, high-scale systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at a major financial institution, ideally with knowledge of JPMorgan Chase's technology ecosystem
• Familiarity with internal developer platforms (IDPs) and tools like Backstage or similar
• Advanced certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or DevOps tools
• Prior contributions to open-source projects focused on engineering productivity
• MBA or additional business acumen in financial services

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go for building robust backend services
• Expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, with focus on secure financial workloads
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration for scalable deployments
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Harness
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
• Understanding of security best practices, including OAuth, encryption, and compliance frameworks like SOC 2
• Skills in database management (SQL/NoSQL) for handling large-scale engineering data
• Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence for collaborative development
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in a matrixed organization
• Analytical mindset for optimizing developer workflows and measuring productivity ROI
• Problem-solving in high-stakes environments with minimal downtime tolerance
• Adaptability to evolving fintech regulations and technologies
• Leadership in code quality, testing (unit/integration), and documentation
