Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of privacy policies and procedures aligned with JP Morgan Chase's global standards
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new products, services, and technology initiatives in the financial services domain
  • Manage data subject access requests (DSARs), complaints, and breach notifications in compliance with regulatory timelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, IT, and business units to ensure privacy by design in banking operations
  • Monitor and report on privacy compliance metrics, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Support audits and regulatory examinations related to data protection in the UK and EU markets
  • Provide training and awareness sessions on privacy topics to employees in Edinburgh and global teams
  • Maintain accurate records of privacy activities and contribute to the firm's privacy governance framework
  • Stay updated on evolving privacy laws and advise on their impact to JP Morgan Chase's financial products and services

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles within the financial services sector
  • Strong understanding of global privacy regulations including GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and CCPA
  • Proven ability to conduct privacy impact assessments and manage data subject requests
  • Experience with data mapping, risk assessments, and compliance reporting in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of financial industry standards such as Basel III and operational resilience requirements related to data privacy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CIPP/E, CIPT, or equivalent privacy qualification
  • Experience working in a multinational financial institution like JP Morgan Chase
  • Familiarity with privacy tools and software used in banking, such as OneTrust or similar platforms
  • Background in handling privacy matters for high-volume transactional data in investment banking or asset management
