Key Responsibilities

  • Support the structuring and execution of public finance transactions, including bond issuances for schools, hospitals, and infrastructure projects
  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate client needs and recommend innovative financing solutions
  • Build and maintain relationships with public sector clients across the Midwest, such as municipalities and non-profits
  • Prepare pitch materials, proposals, and presentations for potential deals
  • Collaborate with senior bankers and legal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor market trends in public finance and provide insights to drive business development
  • Assist in due diligence processes for new transactions, including credit analysis
  • Contribute to team efforts in delivering impactful results for community development initiatives
  • Participate in client meetings and negotiations to advance deal pipelines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in public finance, municipal banking, or financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of public sector financing, including municipal bonds and tax-exempt securities
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and Excel for deal structuring and analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to travel within the Midwest region as needed for client meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Midwest public finance market, including knowledge of state and local government needs
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg or similar financial data platforms
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses or willingness to obtain them
  • Prior internship or role at a major financial institution like JP Morgan Chase
  • Advanced degree (MBA) or certification in public finance
