Key Responsibilities

• Lead the appraisal review process for complex real estate transactions, ensuring accurate and compliant valuations for JP Morgan Chase's lending portfolio
• Oversee a team of analysts in evaluating third-party appraisals, identifying discrepancies, and recommending adjustments to align with internal and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with credit risk, investment banking, and legal teams to assess valuation risks in commercial real estate financing deals
• Develop and implement policies for real estate collateral valuation, incorporating market trends and economic forecasts specific to the UK and European markets
• Conduct due diligence on high-profile transactions, including site visits and market analysis for properties valued over £50 million
• Monitor compliance with OCC, PRA, and other regulatory requirements, preparing reports for senior management and auditors
• Mentor junior staff on best practices in real estate review and contribute to training programs within JP Morgan's Credit Risk division
• Analyze emerging risks in real estate sectors, such as sustainable development and urban regeneration, to inform strategic lending decisions
• Liaise with external appraisers and vendors to maintain a robust network for timely and reliable valuation services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in real estate valuation, appraisal review, or credit risk management within the financial services industry
• In-depth knowledge of UK and international real estate markets, including commercial and residential sectors
• Professional certification such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent in valuation and appraisal
• Proven track record in leading teams on complex real estate transactions and compliance with regulatory standards like Basel III and Dodd-Frank
• Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and valuation methodologies for collateralized lending
• Eligibility to work in the UK with relevant visa status if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Real Estate Finance)
• Experience working at a major investment bank or financial institution like JP Morgan Chase
• Familiarity with JPMorgan's internal risk management systems and tools
• Prior leadership role in appraisal review for high-value, cross-border real estate deals
• Knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors in real estate valuation
